Around
We’ve finished packing. Storing our things with family until we fly to Cambodia in late June. Leaving Seoul in three days and Korea on Monday. Will be shutting the computer down and be living out of a pack for a while. In New York on Tuesday, Chicago in two weeks, Denver in 8 weeks. Intermittent posting. Tho, I’ll be lurking. Asks always appreciated.

dagNotes: on writing about whiteness
num-yabisc: dagseoul: Here’s something that’s very important for bloggers to remember when they attempt to write about whiteness. It’s a problem that tumblr social justice bloggers almost always ignore. I’d say, they’re are either willfully ignorant about this basic problem or woefully naive. Whatever the reason, it’s the source of so many problems with discourse about whiteness and privilege...

It’s a well-regulated order. A determined order. A white supremacist order. A utopian order. Anything but a natural order. A State dependent order both mute and deaf.

dagNotes: on the failure(s) of social justice
I know we live in a white supremacist society, but it’s not enough to simply point out racist shit like so many do via reblogs and what amounts to little more than stupid taunting or lame attempts at shaming. It would be nice to work together to articulate what it is that’s occurring and what to do about it. I’m trying to address a specific problem—how concrete details...

Reposting this note I wrote earlier this month because I, once again, am seeing white people in Korea talking about institutionalized bigotry (racism) against white people in Korea. Never mind that these folks don’t seem to understand that all racial prejudice is not racism, but it’s simply another white argument about “reverse” racism—another way for white folks to...

WATCH OUT FOR YOUR COGNITIVE BIASES, BRO
ourben reblogged your post: Unfollow racist sexist bigots: The anti-statism blog is still there. Was there another? I was blocked maybe, ’cause now I can see the blog. Haters gotta hate, I guess. And why did I even bother trying to look. My eyes hurt. I do giggle at the idea that Hayek is like Foucault. Libertarians don’t understand irony. Or reality. This especially made me spit...

servile-masses-arise: sciamachy replied to your photo: Jelly and Ice cream when Thatcher (and Rangers)… I disagree. Without Rangers, Celtic will be the less for it. It’s like Rome & Carthage. When Cartage fell, vital, vibrant Rome became fat & sluggish, pretty much fell apart. It needed the rivalry to keep it sharp. Bollocks. Why would I want the continuation of an institution which...

dagAsk: What exactly is a "voluntaryist"?
dagseoul: itscustomtaylored asked you: What exactly is a “voluntaryist”? I think it has to do with voluntarily fellating a white man in a Murray Rothbard mask on your own property. But seriously, it’s the belief in private property and sovereignty of the individual (self-ownership). I know: How can you own your self? It’s a hoot. Basically, voluntaryists believe individuals should be free to...

Ron Paul fans make me smile.
I especially giggle at the “Well, who should I support, then?” argument. So many excuses for supporting a lying white authoritarian because he uses the words “liberty” and “freedom” all the time. And I love the guy who’s telling everyone they should actually read from the Austrian School commenting that The Fontainhead is a good movie but maybe he should...

J, I have repeatedly asked people to read the texts with me. I had to lecture in Mises and Hayek. I couldn’t even get the people in my classes to read the works. I know, for a fact, that most people do not read either one. I think it would be great to have a salon about some of the theory. I’m much more interested in their social theory than economic theory. I like writing about...

INTERPELLATION
logicallypositive: that brings me to my next point. if you assume everyone acts rationally (in the Austrian sense of the term, not even neo-classical) and then rational action dictates it makes more sense to stay on welfare than seek out a job because you’d lose welfare benefits for seeking out a job, then how can you possibly get mad at someone for fulfilling the very assumptions on which you...

Marx's labor theory of value is relevant.
dagseoul: Anonymous asked:  How does the labor theory of value have any relevance today? It seems to focus solely on businesses that produce material goods, but now we have towards more intangible goods. OK. You all know I’m busy trying to move. So, this is going to be quick. It matters not regarding the fact...

revolutionarydecadence replied to your post: Marx’s labor theory of value is relevant. Just because the economy is becoming service-based doesn’t change the social relations between wage workers and capitalists. The first mistake of most libertarians is conflating prices with value. I agree.
