The Modds “Leave My House” (1966)

Speaking of overlooked bands, La Secta is amazing. From Spain. I have a bunch of their 45s. Our Kicks on Sympathy for the Record Industry is always popping up in record stores. This is one of those bands I always found in the dollar bin at Wax Trax in Denver. Miss that place.

dagSounds: Greg Cartwright spinning at the WFMU Ichiban (oblivans, reigning sound)

I’ll leave you today with some cool sounds from Greg Cartwright. He’s great.

Five dj sets available from the WFMU Ichiban Blog. Pick them up; they’re good listening.

(Shameless plug: don’t forget my Burn Out Sessions. I’ve posted five to the blog. You can get them here. Love you.)

dagSounds: The Nomads

The Nomads, Showdown! 1981-1993 (1994, Amigo. I think this is a reissue of the 94 release on White Jazz Records who released Showdown Vol 2.) A great anthology of this awesome garage band’s first decade. I think I saw them in 1995 at the Bluebird Theatre in Denver. Around then anyway. I loved this band.
